Maria Nila Luminous Colour

We’ve all tried a hair product that someone else raved about, only to find it’s not the one for us, so I’m excited to discover Swedish hair care brand, Maria Nila, with a wide range of colour-protecting shampoos, conditioners and treatments to suit very specific hair needs. Structure repair, volume, colour refresh and hair loss are among the issues targeted by the sulphate and paraben free line, made with 100% vegan ingredients. I’ve been trying out the Luminous Colour range, with a colour guard and antioxidants of pomegranate to preserve colour and shine.

I’ve really enjoyed using these and am especially fond of the Luminous Colour Masque with blackberry extract, which leaves my hair extra soft and shiny. Designed to be used between the shampoo and conditioner, this feels rich, yet doesn’t weigh my hair down (unlike another one that I was lamenting about on twitter recently!).

I’m excited to try Colour Refresh next, with temporary pigments that last between 4-10 washes, available in 13 shades including 3 for us often neglected redheads, yay! It’s not long since I had my colour done so will give this a go in a few weeks and report back. There’s also a huge range of styling products from Volume Spray to Salty Cream - how cool does that sound?!

I love the personal touch to this brand, whose products are all developed and manufactured in Sweden by a team with 40+ years’ experience. The simple yet styling packaging is spot on too.

New Clinique Cheek Pops: Melon Pop & Pink Pop Review & Swatches

Clinique Cheek Pops in Pink Pop & Melon Pop
My love for Clinique Cheek Pops is well documented on here and I’ve been impatiently awaiting the arrival of the new shades, which hit shelves 29 May. I have been trying out two of them, Pink Pop, a soft baby pink and Melon Pop, a peachy coral. Both are lighter than the first shades launched last year, though there’s a deeper Rosy Pop pink available too.

A quick reminder why these won me over, beyond the pretty gerbera design, cute colours and packaging… the formula is completely unique - better than NARS, Hourglass and Benefit, who’s blushes I also love. It feels almost waxy to the touch, appears slightly sheer on the cheeks, yet can be built up quickly - in intensity, not in texture. There’s no cakey powder on the skin, or any visible powder; instead it adds luminosity (not shimmer) and smoothes the skin’s appearance. Oh and it lasts all day, which no other blush does on me. All of this is why I added Cheek Pops to my Most Used Beauty Products of 2014.

My most used Cheek Pop from last year was Plum Pop, the coolest pink, which I often layered with Peach Pop for more of a coral tone. I no longer have to do this, as Melon Pop straddles both perfectly, in a pretty pinky coral. It’s definitely more pink toned than Peach Pop, and warmer than Plum Pop.

Pink Pop isn’t a gazillion miles from Plum Pop, but it is slightly softer and less blue/cool toned; a bit more pastel in colour. I’ve included swatches of the 2014 colours for comparison purposes.

Berry Pop is a stronger than Plum and Pink Pop, workable but a bit too strong for me. Ginger Pop is deeper and more brown toned than Peach Pop; again this shade didn’t really work for me (a friend and my sister were happy to take ownership of these two!).

Oh and in case you’re wondering, Melon Pop Cheek Pop is the perfect partner for the Pop Lip lipstick by the same name! I can’t get enough of these well pigmented, moisturising beauts either - see my full review here.

So in summary, I love the new Cheek Pops and change my mind daily about which is my favourite as I do like both… I’m 80% sure that Pink Pop is the one - it’s such a sweet, pretty pink. I have a feeling Melon Pop will work its way up when I’m a little more bronzed.

The new Clinique Cheek Pops launch 29 May, RRP £16.50 at

Beauty & Style Wishlist: 30% off Very Exclusive!

So I’ve been completely distracted by the Very Exclusive 30% discount since missbudgetbeauty alerted me to it - and when they added free next day delivery, all willpower went out the window! Of course I had to share the love with you guys, so these are the items I’ve been basket dancing with (anyone else do this?) and a few that I’m just daydream-style swooning over. I’m of the opinion that extremely rare big discounts like this should be used to purchase things I wouldn’t otherwise spend on (ie be able to afford), so here we go - a mix of beauty, style and accessories on my Very big wishlist…

Starting with beauty, and a foundation I’ve wanted to try since it launched - By Terry Terrybly Densiliss. I couldn’t bring myself to part with £75, but for £52.50, just maybe. I’m a sucker for Fig perfume (Diptyque Philosykos is my all-time fave) and I’m intrigued to try Figue Amene by Miller Harris (was £65 now £45.50) - love to know if any of you have it? I’m already smitten with Stila Eyes are the Windows palette in Spirit and would love to try its matte sister, Eyes are the Windows palette in Mind (was £30 now £21) - the colours all look so soft and wearable and I think it’s already great value at full price.

Cooper Ella-Layla-Tassel-blouse-jade-green CurrentElliot-low-bell-flared-jeans-blue 200 RayBan-Aviator-Sunglasses-GoldKarenMillen-stud-pocket-tshirt-grey

I adore the colour, shape and day-to-evening element of this Cooper Ella jade tassle blouse - and a slightly dipped hem is always flattering.  The jeans aren’t a million miles from my M&S 70s style pair, but these Current Elliot ones look more chic and streamlined for evening wear. I’d pair them with the jade top and heels for evening and the grey Karen Millen stud pocket tee and Stan Smiths (most comfy shoes ever) for daywear, accessorised with these lustworthy gold Ray Ban Aviators.

ASH-Patchouli-Aztec-Sandals-black 155 ASH-Gang-Suede-AnkleBoots-tan

I’ve been eyeing up these gorgeous ASH Patchouli Aztec Sandals for a while now - and this discount code has put them *just* within reach. Love the fringing, block wooden heel and front strap detail - perfect with everything from jeans to a dress.  ASH Gang Suede ankle boots in tan (also in navy) look almost identical to my ASH Jalouse, which I blogged about here - my most worn boots ever and still much loved, but getting a bit rough around the edges.

DKNY-Gansevoort-large-quilted-bag-black       SeebyChloe-Small-Drawstring-bucket-bag-whiteDayBirgeretMikkelsen-Goldtile-Dual-Cross-Body-Bag-Gold  MariaBlack-Circle-Pendant-Necklace-RoseGold

I desperately need an evening bag to replace my £5 Primark one (no kidding and people are always surprised when I say where it’s from). This black quilted DKNY Gansevoort bag (avail in several colours) is a much more gorgeous version of it and probably the closest I’ll ever get to a Chanel. It’s also available in a smaller ‘proper’ evening size, but I like the idea that the bigger one would work for daytime too… value for money, right? I’m kinda fed up rooting around in huge bags, usually filled with 327 receipts and 15 lipsticks, though this See By Chloe small drawstring bucket bag (ps it’s not that small) could be a good compromise (dream on, Nic).

The black and gold Day Birger et Mikkelson is a much more ‘me’ style of evening bag… I adore this and like that it can be switched around to show the black side if you’re not in the mood for gold. Teamed with a black jumpsuit and the rose gold Maria Circle necklace, this would be my idea of a perfect evening outfit.

Now who’s up for a girls’ night?

Use promo code 6FW63 for 30% off  Spring Summer 2015 at and 6FWUF (as many times as you like) for free next day delivery. Both codes valid until midnight 25 May 2015 here.

Beauty Picks of the Week

I wasn’t planning to blog today, but took a notion to gather up the beauty bits I’d really enjoyed using this week and tell you about them. I did a sweep of the windowsill at the top of the stairs where I do my makeup each morning (usually with family squeezing past mid mascara)… it has the best light and I can use the stairs as shelves. Ahem.

Burt’s Bees Lip Crayon in Hawaiian Smoulder is a really pretty deep raspberry pink. I expected these to be akin to Clinique Chubby Sticks, but they are strongly pigmented, with opaque colour paired with a balmy finish, not surprising from the creator of one of my favourite lip balms. Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Smokey Topaz is my latest go-to for a sweep of instant colour that lasts all day. This is a true taupe with a metallic finish that can be sheered out with a finger or left quite dense and blended into the crease, my personal favourite. It takes seconds to apply. I’ve just realised that this mini was limited edition, but it’s the same shade as Long-wear Gel Sparkle, which I swatched here. If you prefer a crayon, I’d go for Gold Stone or Golden Bronze Shadow Stick, which I’ve been meaning to pick up for ages!

Roger Gallet-Fleur-de-Figieur-eau-de-parfum-edp

Roger & Gallet recently released its first eau de parfum in the Fleur de Figieur scent. If you’re not familiar with this brand, it’s best known for Fragrant Water Sprays that you spritz on generously (such as the Bois d’Orange I reviewed here), so I was knocked for six by this heady EDP. It’s still a fruity fig scent, but a much more intense, complex version of the original. The initial spritz is almost too much for me (I find one spray is enough), but it settles on the skin to a soft, sensual scent that will work well in any season. Currently on offer with 1/3 off at

Senspa-Talc-Free-Body-Powder,Amazing-Cosmetics-Line-Smoother Primer

Body powder - you what?! I have so many memories of my mum and her talc, which she dispensed into a long handled fluffy pink puff and applied religiously on a daily basis. She still panics if she’s running out, but I hadn’t used it myself for years until recently. SenSpa Talc Free Natural Body Powder is part of a range from an actual spa - and maybe I’m showing my age here, but I’m really enjoying this. The talc-free, skin-kind element of this powder is a big bonus, it smells lovely and is a great natural alternative to deodorant, that is somehow comforting to use.

Amazing Cosmetics make one of my top concealers of all time and their latest release - Line Smoother + Primer - preps the eyes for a smoother, longer lasting application while firming and moisturising the eye area. This is one of those products that instantly plumps up fine lines for a smoother effect, while also treating them long-term. It definitely works on the first count; here’s hoping on the second. The slanted metal tip and mini rollerballs can be used to massage it in, though I still go in with a fingertip to smooth it out.

Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer was a Caroline Hirons recommendation and doesn’t disappoint. Applied under makeup it adds instant radiance to the skin and makeup applies smoothly on top. I’m not sure that it adds lasting power, but am hooked on the radiance and find it even makes overly matte bases look better.

Make me golden while I sleep and treat my skin at the same time? Yes please… Vita Liberata Self Tanning Night Moisture Mask is so hydrating that I don’t feel the need for additional moisturiser (very unusual for me) and I wake up looking more human than usual. This leaves my face with a gentle golden glow that’s incredibly natural, camouflages flaws and gives the impression that I had an extra two hours’ sleep!

Which products are you enjoying right now?

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess 2015: Shimmering Nudes Collection

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Shimmering Nudes Collection for Summer 2015 is all about capturing the heat and light of the season with colour, texture and scent. For me, Bronze Goddess perfume will always represent the scent of Summer and arrival of sunshine; here’s hoping that happens sometime soon. (I’m such a fan that its image represents the fragrance category below my blog header… you can read the ode to my original bottle here.)

Bronze Goddess All Over Illuminator is my top pick from the Summer 2015 line up. It looks like a cream blush - and can be worn as one - or sheered out on high points as a peachy highlight. As I’m quite pale, I like it best as a blush or a blush-highlight hybrid. Worn high on the cheekbones, it adds a subtle flush of colour and lovely sheen, either on its own over foundation or paired with bronzer. Cream products like this tend to mesh with the skin better than powders in warm weather… I’m looking forward to putting this to the test!

Estee-Lauder-Bronze-Goddess-Shimmering-Body-Oil-Spray Estee-Lauder-Bronze-Goddess-Shimmering-Body-Oil-Spray-scented-glitter

Bronze Goddess Shimmering Body Oil Spray is a light silky oil that sinks into skin quickly leaving a more subtle shimmer than I expected. The golden particles are very fine and quite sparse, only obvious when they catch the light… a good thing in my book - no disco ball here. I think it will look particularly lovely on tanned legs. It doesn’t leave an oily film on my skin and smells like a slightly softer version of the matching perfume… coconut and vanilla with amber, citrus and jasmine - it really does smell like warm, beachy skin. I’m impressed with the lasting power too and can still smell it on my skin 4-5 hours after application. If you’re up for a bit of shimmer, it’s a great way to enjoy the scent for £20 less than the perfume (though it’s a smaller bottle).

Sumptuous Extreme Waterproof mascara is not a new release, but has been included in this collection as a Summer must-have. I’m slowly starting to embrace waterproof mascara and think I’ll love it a lot more once I find a good remover. Check out that big fat brush for volume building too.

I snuck in one of the new Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipsticks as the Suggestive shade tones in so perfectly with the All Over Illuminator. Mid way between peach and a pinky coral, this is such a flattering shade that I think would suit most - and feels moisturising and comfortable on the lips. One layer gives a slightly sheer finish, though it can be quickly built up to opacity and hydrates with a shiny finish; the kind of finish that looks gorgeous but isn’t the longest lasting, which gives me more opportunities to ooh and ahh at the satisfying magnetic closure. Be careful when you first use these lipsticks as the tip peeks out a fraction over the edge of the gold casing - and you don’t want to nick it at first use. Oh yes I did. This won’t be an issue when you’ve used it a few times, which is a good thing, as this is the kind of formula and colour that I could happily wear every single day.

These swatches show 3 layers of All Over Illuminator (left) and Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick in Suggestive. To the left of these swatches you can make out a few sparkly specks from the Shimmer Body Oil. This pic was taken a few minutes after application and you can see how non-oily it is, just moisturising and skin softening.

If this last pic looks upside down, that’s because it is. I took it at the press launch and included it here just to show you the prettiness. This is Bronze Goddess Shimmering Nudes Eyeshadow Palette, with 5 nude shimmer shades to suit all skin tones and 3 metallics that can be applied wet for a more intense finish. There’s no reason why you couldn’t use the bronze shades on your cheeks too. The metallics are gold, khaki and dark brown - and what you can’t see here is the gorgeous tortoise shell casing. This would be perfect for taking on holidays.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Shimmering Nudes Summer 2015 Collection launches in June, though you can get in early exclusively at House of Fraser. See the full line up here.

{PS most of it is limited edition and has a tendency to sell out quickly… I’ve been burnt before, so don’t hang about if you see anything you fancy. Do you?!}

Fresh Seaberry Skin Nutrition Booster

Ever try a beauty product and it’s instant love? That’s what happened the first time I tried Fresh Seaberry Skin Nutrition Booster. This little bottle contains a pure blend of antioxidant-rich concentrated oils and extracts, designed to be mixed with your face or eye cream of choice, providing skin with immediate nourishment. Essentially, it makes your existing skincare work harder. I really like the whole concept of paying closer attention to our skin, adapting and customising our routine according to its needs, much as we do with supplements for our bodies.

Rich in antioxidants, omega 3 and camellia seed oil, Fresh Seaberry Skin Nutrition Booster has a light yet luxurious texture that leaves skin looking healthier and more radiant. As it’s so concentrated, only a small amount is needed - and I can see this little bottle lasting me for a long time. I find it both nourishing and hydrating, sinking in quickly to leave my skin feeling soft and looking glowy. I’m all about that glow these days… nothing is less flattering than completely matte, flat skin.

How beautiful is the packaging? I can’t bear to throw it away. And I do love a good back story…

“When I was two, living in a small town in East Siberia, I tipped over a pot of boiling water and burned my arm. The doctor treated me with a pasty orange salve that I later learned was seaberry oil (also known as seabuckthorn). Native to Siberia, this nourishing oil has been used for generations as a natural cure.” Lev Glazman, Fresh Co-founder

Fresh Seaberry Skin Nutrition Booster, £36 is available at Fresh London, 92 Marylebone High Street | By phone: 0207 486 4100 | Online: (UK delivery available)

Tom Ford Fleur de Portofino: Perfume Review

TomFordFleurdePortofino Tom-Ford-Fleur-de-Portofino-review TomFord-FleurdePortofino-Summer-2015-eaudeparfum

I often think that really great perfume is reminiscent of wearing fabulous underwear in the sense of energy and empowerment it imbues. Paired with anything from a sharp suit to jeans and a tee, just knowing it’s there makes you feel good... spritz it on in the morning and you feel like you can take on the world, or at least Monday morning mundanities.

Tom Ford’s new Private Blend, Fleur de Portofino Eau de Parfum, is one of those fragrances - and not something I come across every day. While I enjoy perfume almost as much as makeup, few make my spirit soar like this citrus floral. The heavy glass turquoise and gold bottle *may* accelerate this feeling just a touch, not gonna lie.

As for the contents, my opening impression of Fleur de Portofino is of brightness: crisp green bergamot and fresh citrus with gently curved edges. It soon smoothes into warmth and softness through florals - jasmine, osmanthus and magnolia - into a silky finish with white vanilla and acacia honey.

‘Private Blend Fleur de Portofino is inspired by the cascades of white flowers that spill off the branches of the White Acacia beloved shade tree that dots the Mediterranean's gardens and lines its tranquil avenues.’  Tom Ford

It’s certainly more floral - and some might say feminine - than its predecessors, Neroli Portofino and Mandarino di Amalfi. Not a powerhouse, this wears quite close to my skin; distinct, yet light and airy with average longevity. While I’d call Fleur de Portofino a daytime scent, I would happily wear it on a Summer evening, preferably under the Mediterranean blossoms that inspired it.

Tom Ford Fleur de Portofino launches in the UK 1st June 2015, exclusive to Harrods for the first month. Available now in the US here.

Beauty Blogger Inspired Superdrug Haul

I’ve been shopping from the beauty blogger inspired wishlist stored on my phone (we all have one, right?) after being gifted some points on my Superdrug Health & Beauty Card. Oh yes… us bloggers are just as susceptible to enabling as the next person - and when someone recommends a product I’m excited about, I note it down for my next beauty shopping session. So I’ve been trying out my new stash over the past few weeks and thought I’d report back on my thoughts.

One that I’ve been most taken by is Bourjois Healthy Balance powder (Vanille #52), initially recommended to me by a twitter follower and since by countless beauty bloggers such as Vivianna Does Makeup. The beauty of this is that it sets makeup and keeps shine away without over mattifying the skin, because who wants cake face? *immediately craves actual cake* I apply mine with a light hand and my favourite Eco Tools Powder Brush (mini version in this set), just to be sure. I picked up the new Bourjois Aqua Laque in Appechissant after seeing swatches on British Beauty Blogger and am loving this non-sticky lip shine for a very wearable everyday shade (more on these soon).

How amazing is this Makeup Revolution Iconic Elements Palette? I’m probably the last beauty blogger on the planet to get around to trying this incredibly innovative budget brand - and this was a great place to start. Totally enabled by Miss Makeup Magpie who compared this to the Urban Decay’s Naked Basics Palettes I’ve had my eye on for a while. Every shade but one is matte and the tones are just beautiful… I did find that it took a bit of effort to blend some colours, but generally, this is amazing value for money. It’s £4 people, no I’m not kidding

Maybelline Lash Sensationail is the best budget mascara I’ve tried in a long time. This one was actually recommended to me by Look Magazine beauty editor, Samantha Freedman after I did a Google Hangout with her as part of Tesco Beauty Sessions (sidenote: total babe and absolute sweetheart). The curved rubber brush is SO easy to use and gives effortless length and volume in 1-2 coats. It’s been compared to Benefit Roller Lash and having tried both, I can totally see why.

You’ll most likely have spotted these Max Factor Crème Puff blushers elsewhere if you don’t already own one. Famously compared to the much more spendy Hourglass Ambient Lighting blushers, I’m really impressed by the smooth texture and finish of these. I picked up Seductive Pink after repeated swatch comparisons online and instore like a woman obsessed - until Makeup Over Mind’s pushed me over the edge. It’s pretty, but I kinda wish I’d chosen a different shade as this is too similar to some I already have for me to get excited about it (yes sister, if you’re reading, that means you can have this. And buy me another… KIDDING).

Last but not least, Maybelline Super Stay 7 Day nail polish in Mint for Life. I’ve been a huge fan of these polishes since I first discovered them this Autumn/Winter and decided to try a more Summery shade after seeing this one swatched on Lily Pebbles. The formula of these is exceptional - easy to apply with a wide brush and very long lasting, even on someone as hard on polish as me! I have around 5 and will definitely be back for more, starting with this gorgeous new soft blue, Sea Sky.

What was your last beauty blogger enabled purchase?

Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Skincare: Get the Glow

Clinique’s new Turnaround Revitalizing line claims to deliver that holy grail of skincare: The Glow. I don’t think any of us would say to no to a more luminous, healthy complexion and these products are specifically designed to achieve this - by boosting cell renewal, getting rid of dull, tired skin and nourishing skin with an energy boost of nutritious, hydrating ingredients. Out with the old, in with the new.

After testing all of the above for several weeks, I’ve seen some impressive results and am very taken by one product in particular. Here’s the lowdown…

Starting with one that’s not for me, Turnaround Daytime Revitalizing Moisturiser is a lightweight oil-free moisturiser available in Rosy Glow or Golden Glow for instant radiance. Mine is Golden and has actual gold shimmer in it. Admittedly it’s only visible at close scrutiny, but it’s there (an even coverage rather than the odd twinkle a la YSL Blur Primer) and just isn’t for me, plus I think it’s a touch too lightweight for my dry, dehydrated skin (I still used it consistently throughout this trial so that I could give you a proper verdict.)

Moving swiftly on to the star of the show, Revitalizing Treatment Oil, the first facial oil I’ve tried which I think even oil haters will fall for. Its incredibly light formula sinks in super fast to soothe dryness and retexture for smoother, brighter skin. If you’ve been scared to try an oil based product then this is a great place to start; suitable for all skin types, use alone or add a drop or two to your usual moisturiser. Actives include exfoliating Salicylic Acid, moisturising Mango Seed Oil and antioxidant Vitamins and Cranberry Seed Oil.

Turnaround Revitalizing Instant Facial is an extremely gentle, creamy exfoliator with Chestnut Extract, Salicylic Acid and Resveratrol that you leave on skin for 5 mins, then rinse off with warm water, gently exfoliating to reveal instantly softer, smoother skin. While I’m not big into gritty exfoliants, the grains in this are some of the finest I’ve tried. This is a 2-3/week treatment, though once or twice would be enough for me, especially if combined with the rest of these products.

Turnaround Revitalizing Serum is essentially a vitamin boost for tired, dull skin. I adore the silky texture of this and have been using it every morning under moisturiser. It can be used twice daily, but the oil and or Turnaround Revitalizing Overnight Moisturiser are enough for me. Overnight Moisturiser is way more nourishing than the day version and I’m really enjoying it. It gently, yet thoroughly exfoliates by encouraging increased cell turnover, repairing and ‘turning around’ weary skin, while adding in plant derived goodness. Essentially it gives skin a workout while we sleep, leaving it softer and more plumped.

In terms of results, my experience of using these products comes closest to that of Sunday Riley Good Genes - not a claim I make lightly (I do think GG is more potent and gives faster, more dramatic results, but it’s a close call). Those under skin bumps I struggle with have definitely decreased, I haven’t had any increased sensitivity (I’m rosacea prone), my skin feels smooth and well hydrated. I certainly don’t think you need the whole shebang, but in order of preference, my personal picks are the Revitalizing Treatment Oil, Revitalizing Serum and Overnight Moisturiser.

All of these products are available now, priced at £30-37 (serum available in an optional larger size for £52).

Tom Ford Beauty Summer 2015

Tom-Ford-Beauty-Summer-2015 Tom-Ford-Beauty-Summer-2015-review-photos Tom-Ford-Soleil-Collection-Summer-2015

So I’ve had my first brush with Tom Ford Beauty and am happy to report that it’s as good as I anticipated, with a seriously swoony Summer collection. The Soleil edit includes cream and powder eye duos, bronzers, sheer lipsticks and the brand’s first cream blush. Wrapped in glamorous white and gold, this is beauty at its most luxurious. The colours, textures, pigmentation - and that packaging (I’m only human) - left me a little weak at the knees.

I received a few pieces to share with you and today I want to talk about the makeup... I’ll be back with a full ode to the new fragrance, Fleur de Portofino. Spoiler alert: it’s awesome.

Tom-Ford-Black-Oyster-Cream Powder-Eye-DuoTom-Ford-Black-Oyster-Cream Powder-Eye-Duo-swatchTom-Ford-Gold-Dust-Bronzer,Black-Oyster-Cream Powder-Eye-Duo-swatchedTom-Ford-Gold-Dust-Mini-Bronzer

The new Cream Powder Eye Duo is available in four shades: bronze, peach, blue and black. Each duo includes a densely pigmented cream eye shadow paired with a sparkling powder shadow, designed to be layered - or worn separately if you prefer. Black Oyster is a dense granite cream with a silver shimmer powder. The texture of the cream is unlike any I have tried before; velvety smooth, it has the lightness of a mousse and the tiniest dot is intensely pigmented. Extremely buildable, it can be sheered out with a fluffy brush for a wash of colour, applied with a fingertip for an opaque  finish, or lightly blended for something in between. The silver powder is equally buildable - from a sprinkling of finely spun glitter to a shimmering finish.  A little in the centre of the lids captures the light beautifully, though I struggle to stop there and tend to apply it all over the cream, then add definition with a little more cream along my lash line and in outer corners.

I’m not used to wearing such a dark colour, but once I became comfortable with the level of pigmentation, this allowed me to create an instant smoky eye. I’ve also tried it as a smoky liner, applied with an angled brush and blended with a pencil brush, which I like a lot for a more everyday look. It doesn’t set on the skin, but does have good lasting power with barely any creasing after 5 hours without primer, pretty much unheard of for me. My swatches above show the two colours individually, then layered in the central line. The colours look more dense and intense in real life, particularly the black, which is closer to how it looks on my finger swatches.

Gold Dust is one of two bronzers, both available in large palm sized palettes and this cute mini purse size (which is a pretty standard bronzer size rather than mini). While I generally opt for cooler toned bronzer with a matte finish, this is warm with a golden sheen, but kudos that the collection offers both options. For me, Gold Dust is a mid Summer evening option, when I’m faux tanned and fancy a bit of a glow. For daywear, I’d definitely choose Terra, the cooler toned, matte bronzer.

IMG_4745 Tom-Ford-Black-Oyster

I’m wearing both products in these pics, with just a light sweep of the bronzer applied using a duo fibre brush.

tom-ford-pink-glow-eye-cheek-palette-summer-2015 tom-ford-lip-color-shine-sweet-spot-summer-2015   tom-ford-naked-bronze-eye-duo-summer-2015

These were my three favourite products from the launch, which my own pics don’t do justice, so I’m sharing the official shots. The Pink Glow Eye and Cheek Palette is the star of the show and the most prettiness you’ll get in one product (if you can track one down!). The Lip Color Sheer lipsticks are silky smooth with medium pigmentation - sheer with a distinct pop of colour and a hydrating texture. Sweet Spot is a soft everyday coral… and if I’m paying Tom Ford prices I want everyday wear, so this is the kind of shade I’d go for. Lovely as these are, I’d be more inclined to choose a longer lasting formula with full pigmentation, just to get my money’s worth! To me, the Naked Bronze Eye Duo is the most beautiful (and wearable) of the four colour ways and I may have to treat myself as I can imagine wearing this a lot.

If you’re interested in any of the above, don’t hang about as a lot of it appears to be sold out already online… it’s worth checking at your local counter if you’re lucky enough to have one. Probably safest for my bank account that I don’t, though a trip to Dublin is definitely on the cards!

If you were to choose one item from Tom Ford Beauty, what would it be?
