Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Skincare: Get the Glow

Clinique’s new Turnaround Revitalizing line claims to deliver that holy grail of skincare: The Glow. I don’t think any of us would say to no to a more luminous, healthy complexion and these products are specifically designed to achieve this - by boosting cell renewal, getting rid of dull, tired skin and nourishing skin with an energy boost of nutritious, hydrating ingredients. Out with the old, in with the new.

After testing all of the above for several weeks, I’ve seen some impressive results and am very taken by one product in particular. Here’s the lowdown…

Clinique-Turnaround-Revitalising-Treatment-Oil

Starting with one that’s not for me, Turnaround Daytime Revitalizing Moisturiser is a lightweight oil-free moisturiser available in Rosy Glow or Golden Glow for instant radiance. Mine is Golden and has actual gold shimmer in it. Admittedly it’s only visible at close scrutiny, but it’s there (an even coverage rather than the odd twinkle a la YSL Blur Primer) and just isn’t for me, plus I think it’s a touch too lightweight for my dry, dehydrated skin (I still used it consistently throughout this trial so that I could give you a proper verdict.)

Moving swiftly on to the star of the show, Revitalizing Treatment Oil, the first facial oil I’ve tried which I think even oil haters will fall for. Its incredibly light formula sinks in super fast to soothe dryness and retexture for smoother, brighter skin. If you’ve been scared to try an oil based product then this is a great place to start; suitable for all skin types, use alone or add a drop or two to your usual moisturiser. Actives include exfoliating Salicylic Acid, moisturising Mango Seed Oil and antioxidant Vitamins and Cranberry Seed Oil.

Turnaround Revitalizing Instant Facial is an extremely gentle, creamy exfoliator with Chestnut Extract, Salicylic Acid and Resveratrol that you leave on skin for 5 mins, then rinse off with warm water, gently exfoliating to reveal instantly softer, smoother skin. While I’m not big into gritty exfoliants, the grains in this are some of the finest I’ve tried. This is a 2-3/week treatment, though once or twice would be enough for me, especially if combined with the rest of these products.

Turnaround Revitalizing Serum is essentially a vitamin boost for tired, dull skin. I adore the silky texture of this and have been using it every morning under moisturiser. It can be used twice daily, but the oil and or Turnaround Revitalizing Overnight Moisturiser are enough for me. Overnight Moisturiser is way more nourishing than the day version and I’m really enjoying it. It gently, yet thoroughly exfoliates by encouraging increased cell turnover, repairing and ‘turning around’ weary skin, while adding in plant derived goodness. Essentially it gives skin a workout while we sleep, leaving it softer and more plumped.

In terms of results, my experience of using these products comes closest to that of Sunday Riley Good Genes - not a claim I make lightly (I do think GG is more potent and gives faster, more dramatic results, but it’s a close call). Those under skin bumps I struggle with have definitely decreased, I haven’t had any increased sensitivity (I’m rosacea prone), my skin feels smooth and well hydrated. I certainly don’t think you need the whole shebang, but in order of preference, my personal picks are the Revitalizing Treatment Oil, Revitalizing Serum and Overnight Moisturiser.

All of these products are available now, priced at £30-37 (serum available in an optional larger size for £52).
