I’ve raved about the wonders of Alpha-H skincare on here before and my review of this little trio of wonder is long overdue. I postponed trying these products as I was using other new things at the time and didn’t think it was fair to pitch them against the powers of Alpha-H.
This set is perfect for anyone hesitant about trying Liquid Gold. It is a powerful treatment - and while I had no issues using it at all, I think this is a great way to introduce your skin to it slowly and gently.
Each little bottle contains exfoliants, antioxidants, clarifying botanicals and skin brighteners, combined with glycolic acid, a water-based fruit acid with powerful skin refining properties. Using Liquid Gold has an almost magical effect on my skin. It instantly makes the surface look smoother and more refined, while continued use brings more clarity and just makes it look, well… better! (technical term)
These three treatments are designed to be used one at a time, for around one month each before introducing the next.
- Prep & Prime softens and hydrates whilst boosting the skin’s natural resilience.
- Original builds on this platform by stimulating collagen production to accelerate the firming and lifting effects
- Radiance is a precision blend which targets intrinsic areas of longer-term damage including discolouration, age spots and scarring.
The system is designed for use on any skin which is showing signs of sun damage, hyperpigmentation, loss of elasticity, and wrinkles and can be used year round or to give your skin a boost when needed. Personally I don’t think it’s necessary for anyone under the age of 25 to use a product like this - in fact I’d probably say 30+.
Although highly effective (I use it every other night) Liquid Gold products are free from detergents, parabens, kojic acid, hydroquinone, artificial fragrances and colours.
The bottles come with screw tight lids to maintain their freshness and 3 pipette lids with droppers for easy and hygienic use. I think they are rather glamorous with their white & gold packaging!
Liquid Gold is a clear liquid with the consistency of water… I just add a few drops to cotton wool and swipe it over my face, neck & décolleté. It’s most effective used alone (no moisturiser) and because of the ingredients it’s important to use a good spf during the day while using this treatment.

Alpha H Liquid Gold Skin Perfecting System costs £53 with free UK delivery at Bath and Unwind - which isn’t cheap, but for a minimum of 3 months use (more like 6+ in my experience), it works out a lot more cost effective than facials for me and the results are worth it.
