EX1 Cosmetics: make-up for Asian skins

EX1 Cosmetics is a multi award winning make-up range created specifically for non-white and Asian skin tones.  Born out of its creator’s (Farah Naz) frustration at struggling to find the correct make-up tones for her Asian skin at High Street prices, EX1 includes both liquid and crushed mineral foundations, compact powder, concealer and blush.  Although clearly not targeted at me, I’m so impressed by the range I wanted to share it with you and would love to hear from anyone who has tried or goes on to try the products.

“EX1 is totally dedicated to Asian, Middle/Far-Eastern or Mediterranean complexions. From golden yellow to deep olive, every product from this award-winning brand is designed specifically to suit these skin tones.”

The first thing that impressed me was the packaging, which is on a par with products at twice the price (it’s £10.50).  I was so pleased to discover that the contents were equally impressive, beyond what I’d expected.

Invisiwear Liquid Foundation is thick and creamy, yet light - almost like a dense mousse in texture - and provides medium, buildable coverage.  I haven’t included pictures of it on my face as it’s not aimed at pale strawberry blondes, but I can actually get away with the lightest shade, F100 when wearing self tan on my body, which I did while I was testing it. The finish is almost matt but not flat – my skin still looks like skin if you know what I mean. No caking in sight.  The blusher comes in four shades; this one is aptly named Pretty in Peach.

Swatches

In the swatches above – inc a full pump straight from the bottle - I think you can see just how thick and creamy the product is.  In a good way: it feels like a cross between make-up and skincare when I blend it on my skin.

Above, both products are heavily swatched: you can see the yellow undertones and almost full coverage of Invisiwear in F100, to the right of Pretty in Peach blush.

Above, fully blended and buffed into the skin: I wanted to show how the blush (above left) blends out to a barely there glow if preferred – it’s really very buildable and a sweet colour.
