Benefit’s new Look the Best at Everything Kit comes in the cutest little box designed to look like a novel, which opens to reveal makeup designed to create a flawless complexion.

A booklet of Tips & Tricks on exactly how to use the products is attached to the lid, with a step by step guides on achieving a flawless finish.

I was given the Light kit (also available in Medium & Dark).  It’s quite yellow toned and probably best for light to medium complexions; I don’t think anyone with uber porcelain skin could get away with this, though the products are available individually in paler shades.

Swatched left to right are Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne, Boi-ing Concealer in two different beige & pink tones and Me Vain? Powder in Champagne.  They are designed to be used in this order, over the Pore Professional base, which acts as a primer minimising pores and giving the skin a smooth surface.

Hello Flawless: Although I initially thought the foundation would be too dark and yellow toned for me, it actually blends out really nicely.  Although oil-free, it retains a luminous finish and contains SPF 25, higher than normal for a foundation.  I’d describe the coverage as light to medium and the Boi-ing concealer used on top of it is fantastic for concealing any flaws and blemishes.

Boi-ing: I used the pinker tone to counteract shadows around the eye area and the lighter beige to play down any redness around the nose and chin. It blends beautifully and is neither cakey nor drying. (Why have I never tried this before?!)

Me, Vain?: I was hesitant to try the Me, Vain? as I shy away from powder with my tendency towards dry skin, but this is actually really light and silky, helps set the rest of my makeup and has a soft focus effect rather than that dreaded powdery mask look that makes me shudder!

Ideally, I’d love an Extra Light version of this kit, but I’ve still really enjoyed using these products and think it would make a lovely gift.  It would also be a great starter set for anyone just beginning to experiment with makeup or wanting to try Benefit products for the first time.

It’s priced at £24.50 LINK, the same as a full sized bottle of the foundation, which I think is really reasonable.

The Benefit team came to Menarys in Lisburn just outside Belfast to meet with local fashion & beauty bloggers, introduce us to the brand and tantalise us with their gorgeous new Christmas sets.  It was amazing to meet the team and hear tips from their Makeup Artist, Mark, who was very entertaining and so enthusiastic about his products.

Here are a few pics from the event, which I attended with the girls from FABB, a network of Northern Ireland Fashion & Beauty Bloggers, which I’m so happy to be a part of.  They totally deserve their own post so I’ll be back to tell you more about them very soon!
