Eden Fresh Therapies ~ Natural Nail Polish Remover

Eden Fresh Therapies

I ought to be asleep right now but I’m so excited about this product that I can’t settle until I tell you about it… and no it’s not Chanel, NARS, YSL or any such like... it’s Eden Natural Nail Polish Remover and takes nail polish off without damaging your nails! Yes really… and as if that’s not enough, it doesn’t smell!  Well it does actually, but it smells nice. (I’m forcing myself to hold back on the exclamation marks here).

“This natural polish remover is not harmful to you or your nails in anyway. It will not damage the natural oil within your nails leaving them weak, dry and brittle.  In fact instead of drying out your nails it actually moisturises the nail and surrounding cuticles”

I first tried Eden after wearing a dark red polish, notoriously the most difficult colour to remove. I expected to have to rub a lot longer and use more product than normal, but in fact it came off quickly and easily, with very little effort. I did a smell test and no-one could smell anything… until they (reluctantly - hah!) smelt my actual fingertips - and agreed that the smell was quite pleasant.

Throughout my life I’ve had ‘issues’ with nail polish remover.  I wasn’t allowed nail polish as a child (which is why I regularly offer to paint my little girl’s nails though she usually says no).  So I used to colour my nails in with felt tips, or permanent markers - and since we didn’t have nail polish (or remover) my dad would scrape the colour off with nail scissors (I know, I know!).

As soon as I was old enough, I became obsessed with painting my nails, but have never had permanently painted nails - partly because I felt I ought to let my nails breathe between polishes (and was terrified of staining) but mostly due to concerns about using nail polish remover.

Since discovering the joy of topcoats, I’ve found to my delight that I can usually peel off most of my polish. It’s become a (probably rather gross) habit, which my husband despairs of.  I thought I was ‘saving my nails’ from the big bad polish remover, but was recently told by a nail expert on twitter that I could be damaging the surface of my nails and peeling part of them off too.

I realise I’ve totally over thought this issue more than most (normal) people, but I’ve honestly daydreamed about the development of a natural polish remover. And here it is. And it works. And it smells pleasant (hint of lime), so I can use it while people are watching TV without them moaning at me.

Fresh Therapies kindly sent me a little sample vial of the product to try - and you can get one too via the Fresh Therapies website - see ‘order a sample’ link next to the Buy Now button. It is currently available for a special launch price of £9.95 for 50mls. It might seem a lot, but it’s a small price to pay for protecting your nails and being able to paint them more often - I will be purchasing a bottle tomorrow {eta just ordered mine, yay!}
